A daily living expenses grant is to help you with food for a week. To qualify for this, you must live in the County Durham area and your circumstances must have changed unexpectedly. No award will be made where there has been no crisis/unforeseen event that has resulted in the financial hardship and no cash will be given. If successful you will be given vouchers to buy food, you will need a valid mobile phone number and email address to be able to receive the codes/ vouchers.
A settlement grant is to help you move into your own accommodation after living in supported/unsettled accommodation/homeless or to help you remain in your own home rather than move into residential care. You must be working with a support organisation to qualify for this grant and they must submit a supporting statement to confirm this. No cash will be given. If you are successful you may receive brand new white goods/bed, secondhand furniture or Argos vouchers for smaller items. You will need a valid mobile phone number and email address to be able to receive the goods/vouchers.
There will be an opportunity at the end of the application to upload all supporting evidence.
