If you have experienced a sudden financial shock, you may be eligible for Support from Durham County Council. To eligible for this, you must live in County Durham. As part of assessing your eligibility we will discuss with you your immediate needs and what other help is available for you. You will be required to provide a bank statement for the current and/or prior month to support your application. If successful you may need a valid mobile phone number and email address to receive an award.
A settlement grant is to help you move into your own accommodation after living in supported/unsettled accommodation/homeless or to help you remain in your own home rather than move into residential care. You must be working with a support organisation to qualify for this grant and they must submit a supporting statement to confirm this. As part of your application, you will be required to provide your tenancy agreement and bank statement for the current and/or prior month. You may need a valid mobile phone number and email address to be able to receive the goods/vouchers.
There will be an opportunity at the end of the application to upload all supporting evidence.
